by Lizzie Wirgau When we decided to do the IndieGoGo campaign: For The Craftsmen, we asked ourselves: “What do we really need to raise?” and kind of left the question of “Can we actually do it?” unanswered. I think that’s how I’ve tried to approach most things in Market Colors… doing my best and leaving the results up to God.
Many goals may seem daunting, and getting from A to B doesn’t always appear that easy. But I’ve seen God work in way bigger ways than I have even had the guts to ask him to work. So, to many people’s surprise, we went ahead with trying to raise $5,000. We are now 10 days into our 31-day campaign, and we have raised $3,890. Not only is that encouraging from a financial standpoint, it’s also extremely uplifting and encouraging for our organization’s morale!
What really gets me pumped is that those funds came from 61 different funders. That means 61 people believe enough in what we’re doing to pull out their credit card and support us financially. We take every dollar seriously. The way we’ve worked out our budget allows us to put every cent towards changing the lives of these African craftsmen.
This campaign is driven by a video with footage of my first Market Colors trip to Kenya and Malawi. The video is a great tool because it explains what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. And it also explains how you can support us in a very important way.
How YOU can support this campaign: 1. Watch the video. Indiegogo.com/forthecraftsmen 2. Spread the word... Share our video link on your Facebook wall, tweet, and email. 3. Donate! $10... $25... $50... every dollar REALLY makes a huge difference! 4. Continue praying for this campaign
Thank you for partnering with us in transforming the lives of the African people!
