I love reading “What’s in My Beach Bag?” posts! And since it’s summer and I’m in the sunny state of Florida, I thought I’d write my own version. I am always drawn to these posts and find them so fun to read! After a trip to the beach this past weekend, I thought I’d share my essentials for a day in the sun and the sand.
1. TOTE BAG
A large, durable bag is a staple when going to the beach. You can fit everything you’ll need in it and only have to worry about keeping track of one bag!

I picked this cute yellow towel from Target. This towel is really long so it will keep your feet sand-free when you’re lying down relaxing.
I’ve been really loving turquoise shell sunglass lately. This pair is from Forever 21 and I chose them because of the shape and the mint accent color. They’re inexpensive so if they get a bit sandy, it’s ok.
I just finished reading Love Does and it is now one of my favorite books. I highly recommend picking up a copy! And a bonus is that all of the profits from the book go towards Restore International and The Mentoring Project!
This KIND bar is a staple in our office. It has quickly become my go-to snack because not only does it taste amazing, but it’s good for you too!
I’m a big fan of lemonade. Last summer I came across Hubert’s Lemonade in my local Plum Market and I bought four different flavors. Yes, four. The raspberry flavor is my personal favorite because I think it’s the perfect mix of tart and sweet.
7. HAND SANITIZER
It’s always good to have some hand sanitizer with you when you’re snacking on the beach. The hand gels from Bath and Body Works are the perfect size and always smell amazing.
8. LIP BLAM
I don’t know about you, but I always forget about using a lip balm with SPF while I’m at the beach. That causes a lot of pain for the next few days. I found this balm that tastes like mint (yum!), has SPF 25, and 5 star reviews from customers.
Sunscreen is SO important. I always use the Neutrogena brand because it doesn’t feel greasy on my skin and they have sunscreen with really high SPF! Next time you hit the beach, always remember sunscreen, you’ll be glad you did later.
It’s always relaxing when you can listen to your favorite songs on the beach. (Check out our favorite summer songs here: http://www.marketcolors.org/blog-archive/blog/our-favorite-summer-playlist)!
11. COVER UP
Whether you’re grabbing lunch, or heading home from the beach, a fun cover-up is an essential. Here is a comfy and affordable cover-up from Target!
12. FLIP FLOPS
Target flip-flops always last through many summers. I picked this cute black and gold pair to add to your beach bag!
