Market Colors is an online store and nonprofit organization. Our team collaborates with craftsmen in Africa and India to create handmade products that will sell well throughout the world. We exist to equip African men and women with a sustainable income, generated through the sale of their products.

The Next Frontier: India

I’m constantly working to be in a position of surrender for Market Colors. Above all, I long for Market Colors to be the company that the Lord desires it to be. I’m continually trying to take steps forward boldly, trusting that the Lord will provide the results. The road of Market Colors is not easy. It’s full of lots of heartbreak. My heart breaks when I hear stories of men controlling their wives, children being forced into prostitution, and neighbors of our craftsmen being trafficked. Our lives can feel so comfortable that sometimes it's difficult to imagine that extreme oppression exists. More than anything, I just want to do my part to create hope and financial sustainability for whomever I can.

Why India? Yes, the products are gorgeous. But more than that, there is an immediate way Market Colors can be a part of transformative work in New Delhi. We have the chance to bring hope and financial sustainability this very year.

My good friend Allee interned with me for a year and is still very much a part of Market Colors. Most recently, she's been my main Market Colors contact in India. The fact that these partnerships in India are even possible is because Allee felt called to move to New Delhi. Before she moved, we said that if the Lord opened the doors for partnerships in India, we would pursue them... totally not knowing what might be possible. A few months after her move, we knew that something great was on the horizon regarding potential partnerships with Market Colors and groups in New Delhi.

Hearing Allee's stories of her time overseas encourages me time and time again in our work. Many of the women we will be working with come from homes located in areas that are incredibly at risk for abuse, trafficking, and extreme poverty. The need for Market Colors in India is great... it will create sustainability for new craftsmen financially and spiritually.

This step to work with new groups in India is one that I feel the Lord has orchestrated. A part of my obedience in Market Colors is to work to raise the funding we need to take this step. With just 5 days left in our campaign, please join with us in making this happen.
