So it's almost the 4th of July and you're still thinking through decorations for your big (or small) party. Enter in our 4th of July Garland! It's super easy, fairly cheap, and wonderfully unique. Enjoy this fun DIY!
Step 1: Marble Paper:
Spoons, sticks (something to blend the colors)
Step 2: Garland:
Step 1: Marble Paper
Lay the cardboard out and spray the shaving cream to fill a space the size of your paper. Smooth the shaving cream out so that it is a relatively even surface. Add your food coloring over the surface of the shaving cream.
Mix the food coloring and shaving cream together with your spoon. Play around with the colors until you make a pattern that you like. Have fun with this process; you never really know what it’s going to look like until the end!
Lay your paper on top of the shaving cream. Gently press the paper making sure the entire surface is touching the shaving cream.
Gently lift the paper and place the white side down on a hard, clean surface.
Take your squeegee and remove the shaving cream by swiping from side to side. Repeat this step until all the shaving cream is off the paper. Try to get most of the shaving cream off in the first try to avoid smudging the color.
Lay the paper out to dry. Repeat these steps and have fun mixing colors! Each piece of paper makes 5 large triangles and 2 small triangles.
Step 2 - Garland
Draw your shapes on the back of the paper. I made the base of the triangle 4 inches wide and each side 9 inches long.
Punch two holes at the base of the triangle. String each triangle with twine. Hang and enjoy! Have a happy 4th of July!
